Ideas for improving memoQ LiveDocs
What are users asking for, and what is being done about requests?
Have you heard of the memoQ Ideas Portal? It’s a place where memoQ users with a service and maintenance agreement can enter their requests for feature improvements, or see the suggestions of others, vote to support the ideas and comment on them. In the years since the portal was introduced, quite a number of important improvements have been made to memoQ as a result of user feedback, including what I consider to be huge improvements to LiveDocs (my favorites are proper import mechanisms for exported corpus content and simplifying and highlighting the ability to import original format files, somewhat misleadingly called “reference documents” — isn’t it all reference in some sense?
I wrote an article promoting the Ideas Portal several years ago, which shows how the site looks and works, and how to request access. (This is sometimes a slow process, so be patient after sending your access request to ideas@memoq.com.)
If you are already part of the Ideas Portal community, have a look at the current list of requests for LiveDocs improvement, and add your own suggestions or support the ideas you consider worthy of implementation:
Some of the tips I’ll be sharing about LiveDocs this week are a bit clunky, because they are workarounds to achieve things I sometimes need to do but which are not obvious or are not even possible when using the feature set as intended. So if you would like to achieve a result I describe but hate the process for getting there, the Ideas Portal is the best place to get things moving to get the process right!
